Kenneth Lloyd Ulvick (Papa Ken) passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Nipawin Hospital with his children at his side. He was born on October 16, 1951 in Nipawin. He was the second of three children born to Lloyd and Inez Ulvick. Ken started his work life as a miner and then moved back to Nipawin to start work at CSP Foods. Later, he went on to work for the Town of Nipawin as a rink attendant and eventually retired as a farmer. Ken married Rayann Clarkson on March 1, 1974 and together they had three children, Carrie, Melanie, and Bradie. He was an avid member of the Codette Lions Club and enjoyed coaching his daughters’ ringette teams and toting Bradie around for hockey. Papa enjoyed spending his summers at Candle Lake and loved when all the kids and granddaughters would visit. He loved boating, fishing, hunting with his brother and dad, and golfing in his earlier years. He liked to travel, especially when he was at the wheel. Papa also enjoyed hanging out with all his buddies, going for coffee, stopping in at the Kingfisher for lunch, and teasing whomever he could.
Papa leaves to mourn his three children, Carrie(Mark) Korecki, Melanie (Tony) Boensch, and Bradie (Jocelyn) Ulvick. His parents, Lloyd and Inez Ulvick. His older brother, Vern (Jennifer) Ulvick, and his younger sister, Donna (David) Parkinson. He also leaves to mourn his seven granddaughters, Kennedy and Jayda Korecki, Macy, Brynn and Harlow Boensch, and Jessa and Emily Ulvick. Three nieces, Debra Ulvick , Lorie Bevan, Kelly Clarke, and their families, and an Aunt & Uncle, and numerous cousins. He was a generous, caring, loving father, son, and brother. He will be missed dearly by all those who had the chance of knowing him. We love you, Papa!
